Trail Search and Rescue

Trail Search & Rescue is a specialist mountain rescue team within Wilderness Search & Rescue, made up of experienced trail runners with an in-depth knowledge of the mountains we run and train in.

We specialise in rapid, hasty response incidents—often being first on scene to assist with communication, stabilise patients, secure the area, and reduce further risk while technical rescue teams are mobilised. Our role is to bridge the critical gap between an incident occurring and a full rescue response.

The Trail Search & Rescue team also supports searches for missing persons, assists with gear carries, stretcher operations, and helps secure landing zones for helicopter evacuations.
